CARADDE: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and ethical standards of scientific publication. The journal takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously and follows established ethical principles in handling suspected violations related to research and publication practices.

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Fabrication: the creation or reporting of false data, results, or information that did not occur during the research or community service activity.
  2. Falsification: manipulation, alteration, or omission of research data, procedures, or results to produce misleading conclusions.
  3. Plagiarism: the use of another person’s ideas, words, data, or work without proper acknowledgment.
  4. Duplicate publication or redundant submission – submitting or publishing substantially similar manuscripts in more than one journal without appropriate disclosure.
  5. Improper authorship practices – including guest authorship, gift authorship, ghost authorship, or disputes regarding authorship contributions.
  6. Other unethical practices that violate research integrity and publication ethics.

Handling of Misconduct Allegations

Any allegation of research misconduct related to articles submitted to or published in CARADDE may be reported to the editorial team by authors, reviewers, readers, or other parties. Reports should provide sufficient evidence or information to support the allegation.

Upon receiving a complaint, the editorial team will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether further investigation is required. If necessary, the editor may request clarification from the authors and involve relevant experts or institutional authorities to ensure an objective and fair evaluation process.

During the investigation process, CARADDE ensures:

  1. confidentiality of the complainant and involved parties;
  2. impartial evaluation based on available evidence;
  3. opportunity for authors to provide explanations or responses;
  4. decisions based on publication ethics standards and applicable guidelines.

Actions Following Confirmed Misconduct

If research misconduct is confirmed, CARADDE may take appropriate actions, including:

  1. requesting corrections or clarifications to the published article;
  2. issuing an editorial notice regarding the violation;
  3. rejecting manuscripts that are still under review;
  4. retracting published articles when serious violations are identified;
  5. notifying the author’s affiliated institution or relevant parties when necessary.

All actions taken will follow the principles recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to maintain the credibility and integrity of scientific publications.
