Abstract

Career anxiety can hinder the ability to make career decisions in adolescents, besides career anxiety can also prevent someone from making decisions about their career path. Preliminary studies show that Class XI students of SMK Negeri 1 Empat Lawang are worried about their career future due to lack of confidence in facing the world of work, plus career counseling guidance services have not been optimally carried out there. This study was conducted to determine the level of career anxiety of students in SMK Negeri 1 Empat Lawang and its implications for guidance and counseling.


This study uses a descriptive method through a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population in this study were all students of class XI. Sampling using purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 22 people. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire or questionnaire. In this study, researchers used descriptive statistical analysis techniques, namely making intervals from the scores obtained.


Based on the results of data analysis and statistical testing, it is obtained that, in general, students' career anxiety is in the very high category, which is 27.27%. Furthermore, 22.73% are in the high and medium category, and 18.18% are in the very low category. The implication of guidance and counseling services in schools is that there is a need for guidance efforts to help students better understand their strengths so that they do not hesitate and worry in choosing career choices. Like: 1). Basic Services, 2). Talent interest search, 3). Group guidance 4). Individual counseling.
